Hyundai show off new i-flow hybrid concept car
The Hyundai i-flow concept car made its official debut at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show
Making its official world premiere at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show, the Hyundai i-flow concept car carries forward the automaker's evocative new form language called "fluidic design". Flowing lines incorporated to the body of the concept car not only create a futuristic shape, but also contribute to exceptional aerodynamics and help to reduce the car's CO2 output to just 85g/km.
The key factors delivering such an environmentally conscious performance is Hyundai's first ever diesel hybrid powertrain and application of next generation technologies and materials developed in conjunction with the worlds leading chemical company BASF.
With an overall length of 4.780mm, 1.850mm width, 1.420mm height and a 2.800mm wheelbase, give the i-flow a stance which is more akin to a coupe than a traditional mid-size sedan.
Despite its sporty exterior, the i-flow concept car redefines the perception of space. Fundamental elements, such as the seats and centre console, were crafted for minimal weight and volume using cutting-edge materials from BASF.
The frugality continues under the hood with a 1.7-liter turbo diesel hybrid powertrain making it all happen through a six-speed, dual-clutch transmission, and recycling, energy harvesting, that is taken almost all the way with flexible solar panels on the roof and additional power produced via exhaust heat According to Hyundai, the i-flow concept car is a test bed for new energy harvesting ideas, ranging from flexible solar panel roofing to a thermo-electric generator which uses exhaust heat to produce power.

over heating?
My car was over heating constantly. I replace the thermo stat and now the only time it over heats is just when you are sitting still. checked the fan clutch it is still good. Also now the heater is going out. it will work if you shut it off and let it set for a few minutes. you turn it on and it will blow hot air for a couple of minutes and then you have to turn it off and let it set again. This really sucks since I live in the mountains and I have to leave for work at 4am. it is really REALLY cold.
It sounds that air is trapped in the cooling system maybe because a blown head gasket. In some engines to get rid of this air you start the engine without the radiator cap ( make sure is cold before you remove the cap). As it gets hot you can get the air out by reving the engine up until no more air comes out.
In other engines you need to open some bledding ports until anti-freeze exit without air.
If you have a blown head gasket you will keep getting more air so it will always appear to boil. Another symtoms is milky oil, and the anti-freeze plastic bottle keep filling up.
