I gave a reputable jeweller 48grams of 9carat gold chains to be melted down and made into bangles.?
He is trying to give me back only 34grams of weight in bangles and its now a funny red colour not yellow. He's saying that some is lost in the making, but 25%? Also would it change colour like that??? Do I have any recourse legally?
The fact that you paid to have cheap costume jewlry melted down shows your not that smart. The other metals in the jewelry caused the color change, and the jeweler probably had to take out some of the other metals.
Further more, going to court will cost you more than what you paid for those chains and the jewelry to melt it down.
