Tarp Tie

Why You Should Own At Least One Vinyl Tarp Out of The Tarps Family
There are so many uses for a vinyl tarp that many people actually own several vimyl tarps of various sizes, if you don't own one, here are at least three good reasons why you should.
While it's true, you can buy fitted vinyl tarps for many of your outdoor appliances, but you can actually save money by making your own cover for such items as your barbecue, your lawn mower, and even your vehicle. These types of tarps come in many sizes and you'll just cut the appropriate size for what you want to cover and then tie the tarp down.
Or, you could actually put your own sewing skills to work as vinyl is actually easy to sew if you use strong tools. If you do sew, then you may also want to put in grommets to anchor the tarp so it doesn't tear. Many of the tarps come with grommets already along all four sides just for that purpose.
Another reason to have vinyl tarps around your premises is to be able to set up a tent like structure in case one of your outdoor activities starts to get weathered out. An instant canopy of sorts, with just a few poles and some tie down string.
One more reason most people have at least one tarp around is to cover loads in the back of a pickup truck. Using the tarp to secure the load is not necessarily a good plan, but once your load is secure covering with a tarp can not only make you legal on the roads, but also give a second level of protection. These days you can be responsible for losing a load or part of a load.
As you can see there are many reasons and uses for a vimyl tarp, so take a look around and make sure you have one on your premises. You can buy them just about anywhere household or garden items are sold. Be sure to get tarps at least as big as it takes to cover a pickup load and then you'll find you use it a lot more than you think you would.

I need help desensitizing?
I just recently got a new mare who came from a feedlot last year, she isn't spooky by any means. She walks over tarps and faces everything fearlessly except for traffic. We have to cross a fairly busy street to get to out arena and today was her first time being near it. I was getting ready to tie her up so I could put my saddle on and she heard the cars and reared, we tried it again with her and she could hear the cars and was o.k. but when I tried to tie her she reared, broke her lead and ran back to her paddock. How can I help her be less afraid of this whole situation so I can take her to the arena? Is it her being tied up she fears or is it the cars? When do you think it will be safe to walk her across the street? Thank you!
Hi, I understand not pressuring her. I'm defiantly taking my time with her and giving her all the time she needs and having a lot of patience with her because of her background. Thank you for your help!
Try walking her around parked cars. When she is OK with that, drive a car slowly past her and keep working with her until she isn't afraid of the cars. Then, try tying her around cars. But when you work with her, never pressure her cause she will feel trapped and it will scare her even more.
*EDIT*- your welcome. Glad i could help! I was just saying not to pressure her cause i know a lot of people that pressure there horses and it makes the problem worse. Glad to know you don't put pressure on her
