Reducing Noise Pollution with Anti-Vibration Mounts
Noise created by vibrations of plant or even generators add significantly to the levels of noise pollution in any given area. Using vibration mountings and anti vibration mounts is certainly a good solution; particularly if your factory is located in a largely residential area or you need to run a generator in a high-rise building. Vibration can also damage parts of the machinery. If you can control and/or reduce vibration by using vibration mountings and anti vibration mounts, it would also aid in increasing the longevity and usability of machinery.
How vibration is controlled is also defined by what causes it. It can be controlled by a very complex process which requires firstly an understanding of the design of the machinery/machinery parts which cause the vibration. The right design for the vibration mounting may be different — cylindrical, compression, pads, strips, square mounts, conical mounts, plate mounts and grommets — all offer noise control and vibration control. However, each works in different ways.

On the other hand, neoprene can withstand very high temperatures and does not usually react with corrosive liquids. glass topped conference table,best way to mount the glass?
hi,i am making a conference table from stainless steel and i am about to order 15mm toughened and tinted glass for the table top.
its a box section frame and on each corner i am planing to weld on turned round bar verticaly,this will be the surface that 'will'be in contact withe glass
im am considering using 30mm by 75mm round bar,is 30mm round enough of a surface to support the weight of the glass
also i was thinking of using heavy rubber grommets to sit between the glass and round bar.
is is ok?whats the chances of the glass moving ect

If I understand correctly, you are mounting the glass in the 4 corners only. The glass is thick, 15mm (.6"). And the table is large.
Glass is a liquid (believe it or not) and over time it will bend and sag. Even with the thick glass, I'd go no more than 1m (3') without support. Lengthwise this is easy to incorporate into the design, just add your round bar supports at equal intervals so that there is no more than 1m spacing.
If your width is greater than 1m, then you may have to alter your plans to get the supports near the center of the table (away from the frame).
Otherwise, your mounting and use of rubber (or cork) appears sound. The glass will be heavy enough to prevent movement.
And to be clear, you are using tempered glass (breaks into small pieces, not shards) and hopefully it is laminated safety glass (like a car windshield, plastic sandwiched between two layers of glass). So that if it does break, it does not amputate peoples legs who are sitting at the table?
