Has anyone ever tried filling a tank with dirt for your pet?
Ive remember reading somewhere that you could fill a tank with dirt for your pet gerbil but im worried the tunnels will collapse and kill them.....

Not an aquarium, but we let a hamster tunnel through our container garden before we planted. The hamster loved it, and she turned the soil really well for us!
I would think that as long as you don't have the dirt too deep, then the possibility of a collapse hurting your gerbils should be low. If they are tunnelling animals, this is their instincts and they'll just keep digging. That's what my hamster did.
